I hate my art class.
I'm learning, but the learning environment sucks.
The room is not comfortable, the teachers' personality has begun to push my buttons, and its a 3 hour class.
The art instructor has horrible taste in music... and while everyone is working, she'll start playing this garbage music, that I suppose some people must like, otherwise it wouldn't be available on CD... but still, it's obnoxious imo.
So I asked her if I could listen to my MP3 player, with only one headphone, that way if she was speaking to the class I would still hear her. She said she didn't think it was a good idea, because she needed everyone to be 100% into the project at hand.
Fair enough...
Until about 15 minuets later, when I was at one of the less sucky easels, working on a piece... and she starts HER music again.
It was a lovely *sarcasm* bit of, I suppose industrial (?) where there were no instruments, just people mono-toning the words they think an instrument should make...
Seriously, the lyrics were along the lines of "Boom, tink tink tink... shhhhika tink, tink tink boom" in the "hippy poetic" type of speech. I suppose it was supposed to be an imitation "drum" solo.
It fucking ground on my nerves, especially since I was forbidden to put on headphones and ignore it.
The room is really fucking cold too... its white walls with plain cement floors and high ceiling so it will not old ANY heat...
It's also trashed. It's a communal room that has obviously not gotten any money to replace the tables or chairs since the mid 60's: The chairs / tables are all broken and dirty ( the tables have deep scratches and dried clumps of miscilenious crap stuck too them) the easels are ancient, look like they were made by a high school wood-shop class, and in about the same condition as the tables.
We have a few good, steel easels but there's only 3 for 30 people to share every three hours, so they kind of just serve to mock the other ones.
I wonder if it's too late to drop the class and still be able to replace it... I'd just plain old drop and re-take it with a different teacher, perhaps at HSU, but I have to be a full time (12 unit) student to get paid.
*sigh*
